HTC Incredible S starts shipping tomorrow on UK’s O2 and Vodafone

Yesterday we brought you news about pre-orders starting for the HTC Incredible S in the UK. The pre-orders were done by online retailer Mobiles.co.uk, which works with all major UK mobile network operators. However, this will be one of the shortest pre-order periods in history.

See, Mobiles.co.uk will start shipping HTC Incredible S smartphones as soon as tomorrow – that’s Friday, February 25. That means that some lucky people in the UK will have their shiny new HTC Incredible S devices in their hands this Saturday.

That’s a rather unexpected twist, as new devices usually ship many weeks (if not months) after they’ve been announced. Here’s a case where a smartphone will ship exactly ten days after its official unveiling. Now that’s something you don’t see every day.

Just as a reminder, you can get the Incredible S from Mobiles.co.uk on both O2 and Vodafone, with handset prices starting from free (obviously depending on which contract you choose). The HTC Incredible S is meant to stand in between the Desire HD and the newly-announced Desire S in HTC’s Android lineup, with its 4-inch screen. Spec-wise, the Incredible S is almost identical in all important regards to the Desire HD, boasting a 1 GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM, and an 8 MP camera with dual-LED flash. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo right now, with an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread being promised for the future.
