Samsung Galaxy S i9000 getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread in March?
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 owners may have been frustrated with the slow roll-out of Android 2.2 updates, but it looks like they’ll be among the first to receive 2.3 Gingerbread updates.
According to SmartDroid.de and Twitter user Frank Feil, someone at Samsung Germany declared that the Galaxy S i9000 would get Android 2.3 starting March.
This does make sense, since Samsung manufactures the world’s first Gingerbread handset (the Google Nexus S), and has had access to the new SDK before anyone else.
Sure enough, we can’t confirm that the Gingerbread update is indeed coming to the i9000 next month, but let’s wait and see what happens, shall we?
