Telus will also release the Google Nexus S in a few weeks
This day sure is an announcement-filled one for Telus. The Canadian carrier has first gone ahead and introduced “Canada’s first 4G smartphone”, the brand-overloaded Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G. But that wasn’t enough to make Telus’ day. No, it went ahead and confirmed that the Samsung-made Google Nexus S will also be sold through its stores. Of course, we already know that Telus will hardly be the only Canadian carrier to offer Google’s latest Nexus – in fact, the S is also expected to make it to Rogers, Bell, as well as Mobilicity at some point in the near future.
Telus was, however, the first carrier to give us a time frame for the release. The Google Nexus S will be available from Telus at the end of March or during the first week of April. That’s just a few weeks away, so if you’ve been waiting for the Nexus S to make the jump across the border to Canada, perhaps it’s time to start preparing your cash.
There’s no pricing information at the moment, just like for the Galaxy S Fascinate 4G. Telus will probably have a separate announcement just about that in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned. In pure Canadian tradition though, do expect the only cheap option to be getting it on a new three-year contract.
