HTC Thunderbolt promo app available in Android Market

While we’re sorry to report that the launch date of Verizon’s HTC Thunderbolt has still not been unveiled, we’re more than happy to inform you that an official Thunderbolt promo application has been released via Android Market today.

This may mean we’re very close to seeing the new LTE Android handset hitting the shelves (maybe as soon as this week-end?).

The HTC Thunderbolt app is “intended solely for use within Verizon Stores as a promotional tool.” However, anyone can download it – here’s the download link on Android Market.

Verizon could surprise everyone and launch the Thunderbolt tomorrow, the same day it will introduce Apple’s brand new iPad 2. I wouldn’t get my hopes up on that, though.

We’ll obviously let you know when the carrier finally decides to start selling the Thunderbolt.

    Not really competing products. Nobody’s waiting to see the thunderbolt and ipad2 to determine which their going to get. They are either getting a tablet or getting a phone, or perhaps both. I agree though, not coming out tomorrow, but now that Verizon has actually done something with the apps for the TBolt it’s got to be relatively soon.

    U guys did exactly what Apple wanted couldn’t hold out and got an iphone. Should have just got it in the 1st place instead of trying to hold out. But I will never get a phone that I wasn’t looking for in the 1st place. If anything I will hold out for a better phone in the future or move to a new network where they do actually release new cool phones.

    Evo 3d’s coming out soon, the true upgrade to the Evo. And who knows, it’ll probably come out at the same time as the thunderbolt given it’s track record. This phone’s already dated. You’d also be an idiot to buy an iphone 4 now too given a new one is due in 3 months.

    Not everyone is looking for customization. I wanted a phone that was nice, easy to use, and could integrate with a music player (iTunes lol) easily, nice games. iPhone fits all of those for me. No phone is better or worse jeez. Its all opinion OKAY
