New flyer says Verizon’s HTC Thunderbolt is available “now.” Of course, that’s not true

Judging by this new flyer – which seemingly comes from a Verizon authorized dealer – the HTC Thunderbolt should be available right now in some stores. Sure enough, the truth is that the LTE Android smartphone is not launched yet, and Verizon hasn’t even unveiled an exact release date for it.

So what’s the deal with the flyer seen below?

Well, the flyer is most probably made for when the Thunderbolt will finally hit the shelves – and its existence gives us hope that that it won’t be long until this happens.

We’ve recently heard that Verizon will release the iPad 2 first (on March 11 – this Friday), and only then the Thunderbolt. And although it does not make sense for some, this is probably exactly how things are going to be.

    Unless I am wrong, I thought that Best Buy is the exclusive authorized retalier for the Thunderbolt, if that is true and if this is not a Best Buy ad, which it looks as though it is not, then it is a fake.

    Nice catch! Its a fake or a dealer printing their own literature. I wonder how many the printed without proofing them?

    why doesn’t the FTC regulate the clear “truth in advertising” regulatory issues endemic in the entire Thunderbolt release process thus far? Bait and switch advertising (per above) and television commercials that never state “coming soon” suggesting current products are equally capable. It’s frustrating….

    Best buy has retail exclusiveness but I read somewhere that verizon store was also going to sell the phone. I dont remember where though.

    What I don’t get is why would they consider waiting for the release of the new iPad 2. They are not even the same category of products. It might as well be Red Bull waiting to release a new product because gas prices are up. All this wishy-washy info on the release dates; we have waited this long, why not wait for the Bionic. F**k’em.
