HTC: the launch date of Verizon’s Thunderbolt will be announced “soon”

Answering to all those who’ve been wondering when exactly the long-awaited Thunderbolt would be launched, HTC has stated the following:

“HTC and Verizon will officially and publicly announce the Thunderbolt launch dates soon.”

The statement was made yesterday (March 12) on Facebook, and is the latest official piece of news we have regarding the Thunderbolt.

At the same time, Engadget reported that, according to a trusted source, the Thunderbolt has received “conditional approval” from Verizon – this means the smartphone could hit the shelves in “two to four weeks.”

Hopefully, customers won’t have to wait until April to be able to buy Verizon’s first LTE phone. We’ve recently heard that the handset may be launched on either March 17, or March 24 (the latter date seems more plausible right now).

Hopefully both companies will also officially and publicly announce the firings of the marketing Manager & team and the project manager & team for this FIASCO! At this point who cares if the phone has been “delayed” all this time or it just haven’t reached their planned “release date”. Either way maybe you geniuses shouldn’t have been advertising something this far away as “coming soon”, besides taking pre orders for it. HTC makes a good product but it doesn’t do any good if you can’t get it to the public. Look at the Incredible screen shortages =backorders Incredible 2 only releases for Europe and the Blunderbolt, who knows when it will see the light of day. The only thing that would make this scenario better is if some other phone becomes the “first 4GLTE phone” before the Blunderbolt. If Verizon & HTC screw around a little longer I might be able to switch networks as well as phones. Thank God these morons weren’t announcing a medical breakthrough.

I don’t even care anymore. I’m over the whole HTC/Verizon thing. I’ll be waiting for the Droid Bionic. Heck, at this rate, Bionic will be out before T-Bolt.

I finally gave up and ordered a CPO Droid X last night. Today I got an e-mail from my Wirefly rep stating that they are now taking Pre-orders for the Thunderbolt. Price: $199 Figures.
