Sony Ericsson Xperia Play can be pre-ordered in India
Not long ago, we’ve informed you that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play may be available in India as soon as April. Well, it looks like this is true, as the new smartphone can now be pre-ordered via online retailer Flipkart, which promises to ship the device starting the second week of next month.
The retailer asks 32,000 INR ($710) for the Xperia Play – that’s definitely not cheap, but it’s less than the initially-rumored price (34,000 INR).
In case you don’t know yet, the Xperia Play is the world’s first PlayStation-certified smartphone. To make sure users enjoy the best possible gaming experience, Sony Ericsson has put a sliding gamepad on the handset, alongside Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and a 4 inch FWVGA display. Too bad the smartphone’s internal memory is of only 400MB, isn’t it?
Starting April, Indian mobile users will also be able to buy the slightly cheaper Xperia Arc – one of Sony Ericsson’s other new Gingerbread phones.
