LG Optimus 2X gets priced in the UK, will ship on March 30
The LG Optimus 2X, the world’s first Android smartphone to be powered by a dual-core processor (or the first announced, anyway), is finally about to become available in the UK. It’s already been on pre-order for more than two months, and it seems like we’re only a week or more away from it starting to ship to eager customers.
First off, The Carphone Warehouse has now changed the phone’s status from ‘Coming soon’ to ‘Out of stock’ and have also revealed their SIM-free price for the device: £454.95. The Carphone Warehouse doesn’t offer any information on a shipping date, but Expansys, another well-known UK online retailer, does.
Expansys has been taking pre-orders for £499.99, however the actual selling price is £449.99 now, with free shipping included, as well as a free car charger. Expansys expects to ship the first batch of Optimus 2X smartphones on March 30. You can also get the device from Expansys on contract with Three, Vodafone, or T-Mobile, from free, depending on which monthly plan you choose.
So if you’re in the UK and are after an LG Optimus 2X and haven’t placed your order yet, perhaps now would be a good time to do just that. And then don’t forget your patience, since you’ll still have a bit of waiting to do before you can play with the Optimus 2X.
