In Canada, Bell is prepping to launch the HTC Incredible S, the Android-powered smartphone that was announced last month during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and that’s at the middle of HTC’s high-end offerings – in between the HTC Desire S and Desire HD.
According to a leaked internal document, Bell will launch the HTC Incredible S on April 4. The full price (which you’ll pay if you choose to get the device sans contract) will be $499.95. The contract pricing is unknown at this point. After being launched by Bell, the Incredible S will also be headed to SaskTel and Virgin Mobile Canada.
The HTC Incredible S runs Android 2.2 Froyo, and internationally, HTC has assured us that it will be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread at some point. However, it’s unclear whether that will also be the case with Bell’s Incredible S. The HTC Incredible S has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 800×480 resolution, an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, Wi-Fi, and HSPA 14.4 Mbps (download). The mobile hotspot functionality will allow you to share your data connection with up to 8 devices via Wi-Fi. The Bell Incredible S will come with an 8 GB microSD card preinstalled.
