Verizon to launch Xperia Play, HTC Trophy, Droid Incredible 2 and Droid Charge in April

Just in case you’re wondering about the new smartphones that Verizon is planning to launch next month (April), we may have the answer for you.

It looks like the largest North American carrier wants to introduce no less than four new Android handsets next month, plus a Windows Phone 7 one.

If Phandroid’s source is correct, Verizon will launch the LTE-ready Samsung Droid Charge (pictured below) and the Casio Commando (a rugged Android touchscreen phone) on April 7.

Next on the list is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – the world’s first PlayStation-certified phone – which should bring Android 2.3 Gingerbread to Verizon on April 14. One day later, the WP7-based HTC Trophy should be released.

Finally, on April 28, Verizon may launch the HTC Droid Incredible 2, which will obviously replace the first Incredible (still available for $99 on contract).

We’ll bring more details (including info on pricing) as soon as we get them.
