Samsung Galaxy 551 will be available from Bell in Canada on April 28
The midrange Samsung Galaxy 551, also known as the i5510, has been announced back in October of last year, and since then we’ve heard little about it. It did manage to make its way to Australia, but other than that we’ve had full radio silence. Until today.
We now know that the Galaxy 551 will be released in Canada. According to the image you can see below, Bell is the carrier that’s going to offer it, and the handset will hit Bell shops and its website on April 28. Unfortunately there’s no word on pricing yet, a detail that may make or break the Galaxy 551′s sales in Canada, especially since the international version of the phone was launched with a rather prohibitive price point (considering its specs, at least).
However, as is usually the case with these things, we expect the pricing info to leak well before April 28 is here. And we’ll let you in on the news as soon as we get it.
The Samsung Galaxy 551 has a 667 MHz processor, a 3.2-inch 240×400 capacitive touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera, a side-sliding full QWERTY keyboard, 3G, Wi-Fi with DLNA support, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, a 3.5 mm headset jack, 160 MB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot, and a 1200 mAh battery. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo with Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 UI on top.
