Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc may be released in the US this summer
Already available in lots of countries around the world, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc could be released in the US, too – thus joining the Xperia Play, another new Android 2.3 smartphone from SE, which should be launched by Verizon this spring.
Unlike the Xperia Play, the Arc won’t be available this spring.
Asked about an American edition of the Arc, Rikard Skogberg (who blogs for Sony Ericsson) said in a comment:
The current plan is to have an “a”-variant available at retailers this summer. This version will be optimized for use in the US (GSM/UMTS).
As you can see, for the moment there’s no word on a possible release of the Arc via any US carrier.
In Canada, Rogers is going to launch both the Arc and the Xperia Play next week, on April 28.
