UK: Orange exclusive black Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc gets pictured, is now available
About a month ago, we found out that Orange UK would get an exclusive (at least for the UK) black version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, alongside other smartphones from the Swedish-Japanese joint-venture. They’re now all available, except the Xperia Neo, which was delayed worldwide. That means that some people have went along and bought the black Xperia Arc from Orange.
Subsequently, one of those people sent some live pictures of the device over to Xperia Blog. So here it is – no renders, no Photoshop, the real black Xperia Arc:
While the front is quite similar to the blue version, the back is, well… black (obviously). And a flashy, piano black, at that. Not sure yet how that will stack up against fingerprints, since glossy blacks usually don’t fare well in that department. Also, the Orange logo seems kind of misplaced where it is, and does spoil a bit of the design fluidity here. But, if you’re an Orange customer, you’re probably used to that already.
The black Xperia Arc is available from Orange for free on Pay Monthly plans that are at least £40 per month. You can also get it for a variety of upfront costs, depending on the monthly plan you prefer. To check all the options out, head on over to Orange.
The Arc may be one of Sony Ericsson’s flagship devices for 2011, but £40 per month is a bit steep. Still, if you just have to have it, the black variant is now exclusively available at Orange in the UK.
