Asus Eee Pad Transformer to hit US stores April 26th for $399
Asus fans will not have to wait much longer for the much anticipated Asus Eee Pad Transformer. A news report indicated that the first shipment of the Transformers and its dock would be hitting the US on April 26th.
The Transformer has already been released in Taiwan and in the UK in limited quantities. The tablet itself will retail for $399 for the 16 GB version, and $499 I assume for the 32 GB version. Both versions of the tablet will be WiFi only, but it wouldn’t surprise me if one of the major carriers adds it to its arsenal and releases a 4G version later on. There also is a keyboard dock option available for purchase for $150.
Best Buy is currently the only store in the US listed to carry the Transformer, but you will most likely also be able to purchase the tablet on Amazon. The tablet will run Android 3.0, the standard Android tablet OS, via a NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 processor.
