Official Google Docs app for Android launched

Google has just released an official Google Docs app for Android.

Compatible with smartphones running Android 2.1 or later, the Google Docs app lets you create, view, edit, share and upload documents directly on your smartphone or tablet.

The app (available only in English for now) also allows you to “turn photos with text into editable Google documents” by leveraging on OCR (optical character recognition) – the same technology used in Google Goggles for instant translations.

To download the Google Docs app you can head on over to Android Market, or scan the QR code visible here at the official Google Mobile Blog.
