HTC Desire HD and Incredible S getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread now
Starting today, HTC is officially offering Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrades for two of its smartphones: one launched in the fall of 2010 (HTC Desire HD), and one launched this year (HTC Incredible S).
The update is made over-the-air, and HTC Europe’s support webpage mentions that the new build number for the Desire HD should be 2.36.405.5 after the update, and 2.12.405.7 for the Incredible S.
An update notification should appear on your Desire HD or Incredible S sometime soon.
The Incredible S is also offered by Verizon in the US under the name of Droid Incredible 2. However, an upgrade to Gingerbread for Verizon’s new Incredible is likely not coming too soon (although it will be available eventually).
