HTC EVO 3D gets Radio Shack preorder; still no release date
3D fanatics who prefer HTC to LG can now get one step closer the object of their desires. Preorders have started at Radio Shack for the HTC EVO 3D. To reserve the phone you’ll need to purchase of a $50 Radio Shack gift card, and since there is still no official release date yet from HTC, there’s no telling when you’ll actually get your new toy.
For some reason (most likely the lack of an actual release date) the pre-order will not be officially announced or advertised, so you’ll have to reserve this handset speakeasy-style, with a nod and a whisper to your local Radio Shack employee in the know.
While certainly not the first glasses-free 3D smartphone, the marriage of 3D tech with HTC’s wildly popular EVO hardware seems like a logical one. It is also the first phone to feature the 1.2 GHz “Snapdragon” chip from Qualcomm. The EVO 3D’s two 5MP cameras shoot 3D video at 720p and 2D video in 1080p.
