Vodafone Australia Opening Pre-Orders For Samsung’s Galaxy S II
Vodafone customers in Australia can now put in their pre-order for Samsung’s Galaxy S II.
Samsung’s latest offering has been generating mostly positive reviews, with the phone featuring a 4.3-inch AMOLED Plus display, allowing for sharper images and colors. The AMOLED display also gives less sunlight reflection, unlike the LCD displays generally used on devices such as Apple’s iPhone. It also features a thinner and lighter design and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is the fastest phone processor ever tested.
Some are even touting it as the best Android phone to date, defeating competitors such as the HTC ThunderBold, the Windows 7-powered Samsung Focus and the iPhone 4 in browser speed tests as well as similar benchmark tests.
In fact, the Galaxy S II is already outselling the iPhone 4 in multiple markets, including South Korea and the UK, and might make similar ripples in Australia as well.
As a bonus, Vodafone customers who pre-order the phone will also be receiving a free Samsung leather case and a $50 credit on their bill.
Those interested need to act fast though, as the pre-sale ends June 9. Shipping of the smartphone will begin at the end of June, pending supplier release.
