New Motorola Droid Bionic pictured?

Verizon’s Motorola Droid Bionic is going to be released in the next few months, coming with enhanced features and a fresh design that should make us forget the way the handset looked back in January, when it was first introduced to the world.

The new Bionic may look like in the photos below, which have been spotted over at Chinese website IT168.

The back of the alleged new Droid Bionic resembles the back of the unannounced Motorola Targa. There have been rumors suggesting that the Targa is, in fact, the new Bionic, but we can’t confirm this at the moment.

The Droid Bionic should be Verizon’s fourth 4G LTE smartphone, coming with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a qHD display, 8MP camera, and a dual-core processor (possibly made by Texas Instruments).

Unfortunately, there’s still no official word on the exact launch date of the new Droid.

    haha…………I’m DYING TOO!!

I HAD an OG Droid til I killed it a couple months back. I’ve been using a BB Storm and it’s the BIGGEST POS EVER!! lol
These new photos are enough to keep me waiting though. I’m not settling for just anything this time around =)

The dual core processor is made by NVIDIA. It is named the Tegra 2

this is freaky. i have the old droid 1 too. i am also waiting to upgrade to a 4g lte/ dual-core smartphone. i like the previous design, but the possibility of new hardware makes up for it. hope it comes out before verizon terminates their unlimited plans

Not anymore, it’s now a TI dual core processor…

Same her OGD1, I’m still waiting to smack the spit out if a Moto employee….what’s the point of having a X2 that’s looks exactly like the X1? I like the OG Bionic but I’ll settle for this one……

  • Jeff

They are releasing this just when all the OG Droid users are eligible for the upgrade, and since the Droid 3 isn’t on LTE, this is the obvious choice.

Gonna be hard to put down the OG tho, it goes hard lol.

Old design was much better…. this one looks like all the other droids… boring.

Same thing on my end. I still have the original Droid and I am trying to hold out for a dual core LTE device.
