HP TouchPad Landing In Stores July 1st
It must be the summer of tablet launches, as Hewlett Packard has announced that its first webOS-powered tablet offering, the TouchPad, will be available for purchase beginning July 1st.
The TouchPad will feature a 9.7-inch XGA display, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and NFC capabilities that will allow the device to be connected to HP phones.
Two versions of the TouchPad will be available: a 16GB version for $499.99 and a 32GB version for $599.99.
Fans in the United States will be able to purchase the TouchPad beginning July 1st, while those in the U.K., Ireland, France and Germany will have to wait a few days. It will land in Canadian stores by mid-July while Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore will have to wait until a later date.
Consumers are looking at plenty of tablet options this summer, as the anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is currently on pre-order sale, while Apple’s iPad has continued to dominate tablet sales, despite its product shortage and sometimes two-week waiting period at retail stores.
Pre-orders for the HP TouchPad will begin June 19th.
