Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo pre-orders start in the UK for £379.99, shipping August 4
While it has been available in Romania for about six weeks now, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is still delayed in pretty much the rest of Europe (at least in the main Western European markets). However, today we have a rough idea of when the Xperia Neo will finally become available in at least one of those markets, the UK.
Well known online independent mobile retailer Expansys has put the Xperia Neo up for pre-order. The price being asked is £379.99, which is a bit cheaper than what we saw in Romania, but still is (in my humble opinion) a bit overpriced. Anyway, if you don’t agree, or just like the Xperia Neo’s looks too much, or want to get this smartphone for any other reason, go to Expansys now and pre-order yours. That way you’ll be one of the first people in the UK to get one. When will that be? On August 4 at the earliest, according to the retailer.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, if you remember, is Sony Ericsson’s upper-midrange Android-powered offering. It’s basically its competitor to HTC’s Desire S. These aren’t high-end devices by today’s standards, yet they both would have been flagship handsets just one year ago. So they’re in no way underperforming or anything like that, and they’re generally considered good buys if you don’t crave to have always the latest and greatest in your possesion.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo has a 3.7-inch 480×854 LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen, an 8 MP autofocus rear camera with 720p HD continuous autofocus video recording, a secondary front-facing camera for video calls, 320 MB of internal storage space expandable via microSD (an 8 GB card is included in the sales package), 512 MB of RAM, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, 5.76 Mbps HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1500 mAh battery.
