Samsung Admire SCH-R720 could be MetroPCS’ first Android Gingerbread phone
MetroPCS already has an interesting line-up of Android devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, LG Optimus M, Huawei M835, and Huawei Ascend. However, it doesn’t have any Gingerbread handsets yet. But thanks to Samsung it will, soon.
Meet the Samsung Admire SCH-R720 which, according to PhoneNews, should be released by the regional carrier in August or September.
Reportedly, the Admire features a 3.5 inch HVGA display, 3G, 3.2MP camera, an 800Mhz processor, and TouchWiz UI on top of Android 2.3.

It’s said that MetroPCS will offer the Samsung Admire SCH-R720 for only $149.99 (after a $50 instant discount). That’s a really good price for a Gingerbread smartphone, isn’t it?
Another Android 2.3 handset that will be released by MetroPCS this year is the LTE-capable LG MS910 Bryce, but this is expected to hit the shelves in October or November.
