Samsung Galaxy Gio arrives at Bell on August 4
A couple of weeks ago we first told you that the Samsung Galaxy Gio was headed to Bell in Canada. Back then the only thing we knew about when that will happen was that it would be sometime in August. Thankfully, today we have a more specific date to talk about.
The image you see below represents a screengrab of a Bell system which was leaked to MobileSyrup. As you can undoubtedly make out, the Samsung Galaxy Gio will become available at Bell on August 4, according to it.
We have no reason to doubt this image’s authenticity, and given that August 4 is so close, we don’t expect there to be any (big) delays. So it looks like you’ll be able to go to your local Bell store and purchase a Galaxy Gio starting next Thursday.
We’ve yet to come across any pricing details, so stay tuned for that. Anyway, the Galaxy Gio is a midrange Android-powered smartphone that has a 3.2-inch touchscreen, an 800 MHz processor, a 3.2 MP autofocus camera, 158 MB of storage space, microSD support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1350 mAh battery. Therefore, it should be quite affordable. According to the previous leak regarding this device’s availability on Bell, it will launch in Canada running Android 2.3 Gingerbread (which is good news because elsewhere it ships with Android 2.2 Froyo).
