Telus offers the iPhone 4 for $99.99 and five Androids for free until September 7
If you’re in Canada and want to get yourself a brand new smartphone and don’t mind having Telus as your carrier, listen up. If you act before September 7, Telus has some interesting deals that seem to be tailored to the back to school shopping period.
First off, the iPhone 4 can now be yours for just $99.99. That is, if you sign a new three-year contract. Why you’d want to buy an iPhone 4 so close to the rumored release of its successor is up to you, of course.
If you’re not into iPhones, then perhaps five free Android-powered smartphones will sound interesting to you. Also ending on September 7, Telus offers the white Google Nexus S, the INQ Cloud Touch, the HTC Status, the Motorola Defy, as well as the LG Optimus Black Skype edition for a handy dandy $0. Again, you will need to become committed for no less than three years to benefit from this offer.
You do have to recognize that there’s something for everyone in there. We’re not talking about the latest high-end Android smartphones here, of course, but the Optimus Black is still a decent performer. The HTC Status and the INQ Cloud Touch both tout Facebook integration as their main feature, yet the Status comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, and the Cloud Touch has a bigger screen. The Defy is rugged, and the Nexus S… is probably your best bet out of this bunch, unless you absolutely fell in love with one of the other devices. Yes, Google may announce a new Nexus very soon, but if you won’t mind that, then the Nexus S is the device to get. It’s free, and you’ll always run the latest version of Android. What more could you possibly want?
If you’re interested in picking up any of the aforementioned smartphones, just go here at Telus and order one.
