T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G Android 2.3.4 update is rolling out

T-Mobile and HTC have started pushing out the Android 2.3.4 update to HTC Sensation 4G smartphones yesterday.

This update is mainly meant to improve the performance and stability of the device. After updating, your Sensation should be running software version 1.45.531.1.

The update brings improved battery life and software stability, as well as numerous improvements to the Trace dictionary, screen responsiveness, video playback, rebooting and powering off, screen and photo resolution, and the Wi-Fi connection.

The update is headed to your HTC Sensation 4G over-the-air, which means that your phone will notify you once the update has reached it. Then you can choose to install it. The rollout will happen until late September, and according to T-Mobile there’s no way to expedite how quickly you receive the update. However, the carrier does list the procedure to get your handset to manually check if the update is available, so you may try that if you want to, just know that it probably won’t make the update appear any sooner. You need to go to Settings > About phone > HTC software updates and hit Check.

    Noticed the update a few hours ago, about 45 mb in size.  Operates MUCH faster and smoother, some apps that weren’t working are now.  Definitely a welcome update.

    I got it for my sensation from t-mobile on 8/20/11 at 11am. The WiFi is instantly stronger and now stays connected better. I was having major issues with this before the update. I can’t tell yet if the battery life is better, but this was an issue as well.

    I can confirm this as well.
    I usually end up with about 30% battery life at the end of the day with normal use. After updating this morning, I have about 85% battery life…and i think i even used my phone more than normal to check out all the changes……AMAZING update!!!!!!!

    Also noticed much better responsiveness on the screen.

    Got my update last night. Definitely improved battery life, etc. AND, we can take screenshots now! I accidently did it a few times until I figured it out. Hold down power button and press the home button and boom goes the dynamite.

    Since getting the 2.3.4 update for the HTC sensation , there is now a 15 sec lag going from the web to the Home screen.  What gives?!

    So for so good ….I just wish it was is fast as my g2x any ways all the bad stuff its gone I’m using my sensation again….
