LG Optimus Sol E730: Android Gingerbread, Ultra AMOLED screen, affordable price
LG has just announced its third smartphone to come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box (after the Optimus Net and Optimus Pro C660). The new handset is called LG Optimus Sol E730, and is the company’s first to have an Ultra AMOLED screen (3.8 inches, WVGA) – which allows it to display high quality images “even in bright and sunny conditions.”
The Optimus Sol is only 9.8mm thin, and features a 1GHz single-core processor, Wi-Fi, DLNA, HSDPA, GPS, 5MP autofocus camera, and “an enhanced idle-based power management system that boosts battery life by 20 to 30 percent.”
LG didn’t unveil the exact price of the Optimus Sol E730, but it did say it would “stand out from its competitors as the most affordable 1 GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display.” The smartphone will be available in Europe starting mid-September, and in other markets (Latin America) shortly after.
