Samsung Admire with Android Gingerbread launched by MetroPCS
Regional US mobile carrier MetroPCS has just introduced a new Android smartphone – the Samsung Admire SCH-R720 (previously seen in July in some leaked photos).
Coming as the carrier’s first handset to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Samsung Admire is a low-end-ish device with features that include: 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth, 3.2MP camera, an 800MHz processor, 2GB memory card pre-installed, and a 1600 mAh battery.
MetroPCS is offering the Samsung Admire for only $129 plus tax (no contract required). Customers who buy the handset also “receive $15 in free Android apps by mail.” You can choose an unlimited data plan from MetroPCS for as low as $50 per month.
