Sprint launches BlackBerry Bold 9930 for $199.99 after all
Over the weekend, Sprint has launched the BlackBerry Bold 9930, the first BlackBerry Bold to come with a touchscreen. That is something that we’ve known was going to happen for a number of days. When Sprint announced the official release date for this smartphone, it also let us know that the Bold 9930 would be priced at $249.99 with a new two-year contract.
In the meantime though, Walmart decided to discount the Bold 9930 by a cool $50, and started taking pre-orders for it only charging $199.99 with a new contract.
It’s unclear if the above had anything to do with it, but, without saying a word as to why, Sprint has started selling the BlackBerry Bold 9930 for $199.99 too. And that happened from the beginning of sales, so it’s probably safe to assume that this is not a limited-time offer.
Of course, this is saner pricing, and it’s definitely nice to see. Although regardless of what Sprint would have done, you can bet that the new BlackBerry will show up discounted even more at third party retailers in a few weeks.
If you can’t wait that long, at least you’ve received an official $50 off from the carrier itself. If you’re interested in purchasing a Bold 9930 now, go to Sprint and place an order. It also appears that Amazon has the Bold 9930 for $199.
