Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 now available in Canada for $499.99
By Vlad Bobleanta on 22 Aug 11After having become available in North America in the US first, and after missing its initial release deadline of July, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now finally out in Canada.
This is the Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet we’re talking about. In the future, Telus, Bell, and Rogers will all launch 4G-enabled variants of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. According to MobileSyrup, that may even happen as soon as a couple of weeks from now.
So if you need mobile data connectivity built into your tablet, you should probably hold off. If, however, having a Wi-Fi-only tablet isn’t a deal breaker for you, then you should know that both The Source and Staples already have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in stock. Best Buy and Future Shop will apparently have it in stores on August 26.
The 16 GB version of the Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is the one that has now become available, costs $499.99. It runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI overlay, and comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 1 GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, a 3 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera, and 1 GB of RAM.
