Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V announced. Other Xperias to get Android 2.3.4 soon
Sony Ericsson has just introduced a slightly different version of the Xperia Neo Android smartphone (originally announced back in February at MWC 2011). The new handset is called Xperia Neo V and, save for the different paint jobs, it looks exactly like the regular Neo. However, it comes with the latest Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, and a 5MP camera instead of an 8MP one.
According to Sony Ericsson, in October all the other Xperia smartphones launched earlier this year will be upgraded to Android 2.3.4. The upgrade will include some features that come preinstallled on the Neo V, like enhanced Facebook inside Xperia functionality, Google Talk with Video Chat, and 3D sweep panorama technology “so that images can be captured and then viewed in 3D by connecting the phone to a 3D TV using the HDMI output.”
The new Xperia Neo V (pictured above) will be available in select markets starting the fourth quarter of the year, coming in three color versions: white, silver, and blue gradient. Sony Ericsson didn’t announce its price (I’d say it should be around €350).
