If you’re in the UK and would like to get a brand spanking new tablet, but aren’t really into the iPad or any other 10-inch offering, here’s something for you.
As you may know, HTC has launched its first Android-powered tablet this year, the Flyer. This is a unique proposition in the tablet space, for a few reasons. First of all, it’s a 7-inch device, and second, it comes with an (optional) stylus and some HTC software that can take advantage of it.
It’s also unfortunately still not running Android Honeycomb, which is Google’s tablet-optimized mobile OS release. Still, the Flyer does run Android Gingerbread with HTC Sense, which is heavily skinned and enhanced for tablet use. So it’s not like you’re running (just) an OS designed for phones on your tablet, but you don’t have a full-fledged tablet OS either. This is somewhere in between.
If you’re cool with that, you should know that Best Buy UK has decided to have a great offer available for the HTC Flyer. The 16 GB Wi-Fi-only version of HTC’s tablet can now be yours for just £329.99. That’s £150 less than the £479.99 it usually goes for. The offer is valid until September 21.
If you’re interested, Best Buy is waiting for your order.
The HTC Flyer has a 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen, a 1.5 GHz single-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage space, a 5 MP autofocus rear camera with 720p HD video recording, a 1.3 MP secondary front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 4000 mAh battery.
