Samsung launches Champ 3.5G, Chat 527, and Primo in India
Today, Samsung has announced not one, not two, but an impressive three new affordable 3G-enabled phones for the Indian market. All of these are due to launch soon, and they all promise to bring HSDPA data speeds to those who buy them. So let’s take them one by one.
First we have the Samsung Champ 3.5G, also known as the S3770. This is a full touch device, with a 2.8-inch 240×320 touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 2 MP camera, 30 MB of built-in storage expandable via microSD cards, and a 1000 mAh battery. The Champ 3.5G is pictured below and will cost Rs. 5,590.
Next up there’s the Samsung Chat 527, model number S5270. This has a full physical QWERTY keyboard as one of its main selling points, and it’s a candybar. So it’s quite similar in form factor to a ‘classic’ BlackBerry or Nokia Eseries smartphone.
The Samsung Chat 527 has an optical trackpad, a 2.4-inch display, microSD card support, Wi-Fi, FM radio, and a 1000 mAh battery. It will be priced at Rs. 5,930.
Finally, the Samsung Primo (S5610) is a classic candybar with metallic design (as you can see in the picture above). It will have a 2.4-inch display, a 5 MP camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD card support, and (again) a 1000 mAh battery. It will sell for Rs. 6,590.
