A week ago we first heard the name HTC Hero S mentioned. Reportedly, it was to be US Cellular’s version of the smartphone that Sprint will sell as the HTC Evo Design 4G and Alltel will market as the Acquire.
This is the device that has so far been codenamed HTC Kingdom, and judging by the rate at which leaks regarding it are showing up it should be in stores pretty soon.
Anyway, today we have the first press shot of the HTC Hero S for US Cellular. Here it is:
On the left is the Motorola Electrify, US Cellular’s version of Sprint’s Photon 4G, that was officially announced earlier this month. On the right you can see the Hero S in all its glory. And it looks identical to a previously leaked render of the HTC Evo Design 4G for Sprint. Save for the branding, of course.
In case you forgot, the Hero S is supposed to come with 1.2 GHz single-core processor, a 4-inch qHD (540×960) touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, as well as a secondary front-facing cam.
Unfortunately we still don’t know when US Cellular will launch this smartphone, or how much it will ask for it. But we’ll let you know when we find out.
