ZTE isn’t the only Chinese phone maker that plans to strike it big in the UK starting this year. No, it’s joined by its competitor from the mainland, Huawei. Huawei would also like people to get to know it better and thus has decided to shift from only supplying operator-branded devices to launching a couple under its own brand.
So that’s the story of the upcoming Huawei Vision and Blaze. Both midrange Android-powered smartphones, the Vision at the top of that class, and the Blaze lower down the food chain. Both expected to be quite affordable, and both exclusive to Phones4U.
Last we heard anything about them, the retailer said they’ll only launch in the fourth quarter (so not earlier than October). Yet Phones4U has somehow managed to squeeze the launch of the Blaze into the third quarter, though just by one day.
Yes, the Huawei Blaze will be in stock at Phones4U on September 30 and will carry a very nice price of just £99.95 on Pay as you go. The phone will be available in black, although it will come with white and pink interchangeable back covers too.
The Huawei Blaze will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will come with a 3.2-inch 480×320 curved touchscreen, a 3.2 MP camera as well as a secondary front-facing camera, an 800 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, microSD card support, HSDPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and an FM radio.
