Samsung Galaxy R now available in the UK, can be yours for £409.99
The Samsung Galaxy R is basically nothing but a cheaper Galaxy S II. In order for it to be cheaper, of course, some high-priced components that can be found in the Galaxy S II are absent. But overall, the Galaxy R is a decent smaller brother (not necessarily in size, but in specs) to the Galaxy S II.
Samsung decided to announce the Galaxy R back in July, after we had seen a series of leaks about it. The Galaxy R is one of the first devices to sport Samsung’s new naming scheme, and the “R” apparently stands for “royal” and/or “refined”. Make of that what you wish.
The Samsung Galaxy R has finally become available in the UK. Well known electronics retailer Expansys now has some in stock. The price being asked is £409.99 for a SIM-free and unlocked unit, and shipping is free.
If you’re interested, head over to Expansys now and add a Galaxy R to your basket.
The Samsung Galaxy R has a 4.2-inch 480×800 SC-LCD touchscreen, a dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, a 5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 8 GB of built-in storage, 1 GB of RAM, 2 GB of ROM, microSD card support, HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 1,650 mAh battery. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
