Asus certainly has a great track record this year in keeping its Android-powered Eee Pad Transformer tablet up to date. While updates to the Transformer haven’t come out exactly as they were pushed by Google, Transformer owners always had very small amounts of waiting to do, and they have received all the updates that have been available until today.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer launched running Android Honeycomb 3.0, but then saw updates to 3.1 and 3.2. And now’s the time for yet another update. Yet if 3.1 and 3.2 counted as minor updates, this will be even less than that – it’s basically all just bug fixes and performance improvements. Which isn’t to say that it’s not an update you should apply as soon as possible.
After updating, your tablet will be on version 188.8.131.52 of the software, and will run Android 3.2.1. Let’s go through a quick list of a few of the things that are new. There’s a cryptic new feature called Supernote on board, a bunch of new translations have been added, the Polaris Office and Asus WebStorage apps have been updated, Flash performance in the browser has been improved, as well as Wi-Fi stability, browser force-closes have been fixed, and Chinese handwriting prediction should now work better.
The update will naturally come over-the-air, so your tablet should notify you (if it hasn’t done so already) that new software is available. Happy updating!
