HTC Hero S, HTC Wildfire S and HTC Flyer announced by US Cellular
US Cellular has introduced no less than three new Android devices made by HTC: HTC Hero S, HTC Wildfire S, and the HTC Flyer tablet.
Expected to be released by Sprint as the HTC Evo Design 4G, the Hero S is, as previously reported, a Gingerbread handset with a 4 inch qHD (960 x 540) display, 1.2GHz single-core processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 5MP rear camera with F2.2 lens and 720p video recording, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.
Like the Motorola Electrify (another qHD Gingerbread smartphone launched by US Cellular recently), the HTC Hero S will cost $199.99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. You can go here to see the handset.
The Wildfire S isn’t as exciting as the Hero S, featuring a 3.2 inch HVGA display and a 600MHz processor, but at least it’s also running Gingerbread. The Wildfire S will be sold by US Cellular for $79.99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. Check it out here.
As for the HTC Flyer, this will be available for $399 on contract. It will come with a 7 inch display (1024 x 600 pixels), Android Gingerbread, Wi-Fi, GPS, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 1.5GHz single-core processor, and 32GB of internal memory. For the moment, the Flyer doesn’t appear at US Cellular’s website.
