Three recently announced HTC smartphones are now up for grabs in the UK. Of the devices in question, the Sensation XE runs Android and the Titan and Radar are Windows Phones featuring Mango, the latest version of Microsoft’s new mobile operating system.
The HTC Sensation XE is a souped up version of the original Sensation, just like its name implies. It has a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, a bigger battery, and Beats audio integration, alongside Beats headphones and some red accents on the phone’s casing. Other than that, this is virtually identical to the ‘vanilla’ Sensation that has been selling for a while now.
If you’d like to get a Sensation XE in the UK, it’s now available unlocked and SIM-free at such retailers as The Smartphone Centre and Clove. The former will charge you £479.95 for the device, shipping included. If you go with the latter, you’ll need to shell out £492, and shipping isn’t free.
Next up we have the literally gigantic HTC Titan. This is the Taiwanese company’s Windows Phone Mango flagship, and it’s got a huge 4.7-inch touchscreen that proves its status pretty conclusively. The Titan also comes with a 1.5 GHz (single-core) processor, an 8 MP camera with 720p HD video recording, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 16 GB of built-in storage, plus all the connectivity options you’d expect from a high-end smartphone in this day and age. Oh, and fortunately it’s 9.9 mm thin (which makes it more pocketable than its other dimensions would have you believe).
Or, if you like signing long-term contracts with operators, Phones 4U has the handset on offer with a variety of plans from Vodafone, Orange, or T-Mobile. To get the phone for free, you’ll have to pony up at least £31 per month for two years. Plans that cost exactly that much exist at either Vodafone or Orange. Big Red gives you 900 minutes, 3,000 texts, and 500 MB of data each month. Orange, on the other hand, throws in either 400 minutes, 3,000 texts, and 750 MB of data, or switches to 600 minutes and 250 MB of data for the same amount.
Finally, you can also order an HTC Radar today in the UK. Unfortunately though, it’s not yet available unlocked, so if you’re desperate to get one, you’ll need to go with an operator. The HTC Radar is the company’s midrange Windows Phone offering for the remainder of this year, and as such its specs are toned down compared to its bigger brother, the Titan. Still, it’s cheaper too, so for many it could make a lot of sense. The Radar has a 3.8-inch touchscreen, a 1 GHz processor, a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera, and 8 GB of built-in storage.
The HTC Radar can be had for free if you choose a plan that’s at least £23.5 per month. That particular plan can be found at Orange (via Phones 4U again), and nets you 400 minutes, 3,000 texts, and 250 MB of data each month.
