Motorola Fire and ZTE Tureis QWERTY Androids now out in the UK
Today, two more Android-powered smartphones have become available in the UK. These have something in common, though, as they both sport the same form factor. Both the Motorola Fire as well as the ZTE Tureis fit a touchscreen as well as a full physical QWERTY keyboard in a candybar shape. And they’re both rather affordable, so either one would make a great gift for someone addicted to texting, social networking, or all of the above.
The Motorola Fire was announced back in July, and we’ve since seen it launch in Hong Kong. It was supposed to be out in the UK last month, but here it is now after a small delay. You can buy it from Clove right now for £174, VAT included.
The Motorola Fire has a 2.8-inch QVGA (240×320) touchscreen, a 600 MHz processor, a 3 MP camera, microSD card support, an FM radio, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, and a 1420 mAh battery. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The ZTE Tureis is even cheaper, believe it or not. This is one of three devices recently unveiled by the Chinese manufacturer for the UK market. The other two, the Skate and the Libra, have gone on sale last week. The ZTE Tureis has a 2.6-inch 320×240 touchscreen, an 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, microSD card support, 100 MB of built-in storage, a 3.2 MP camera, and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The Tureis also runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
If you want to get a ZTE Tureis, Clove asks that you part with £144. This price will net you a SIM-free and unlocked device.
