Nokia N9 now available in the US, unlocked for $689.99
Despite Nokia’s own efforts not to make the N9 available officially in the USA (and many other big developed markets), the MeeGo-powered smartphone has made its way stateside anyway. It was naturally bound to happen thanks to an independent retailer.
Expansys went along and ordered some N9s for the US, which it now offers to you in unlocked form, of course. The prices are a bit steep though. The cheapest option is a black version with 16 GB of built-in storage, which costs $689.99. Shipping is free.
If you’d like to get the N9 in another color or with more storage space, make sure you have a pile of cash lying around. And you’ll also need to have some patience, since the aforementioned black 16 GB model is the only one currently in stock at Expansys USA.
So if you’re in the US and you’d like to get a taste of Nokia’s first and last MeeGo phone, you can now do just that. Expansys will gladly take your order.
The Nokia N9 has a 3.9-inch 854×480 touchscreen, a 1 GHz processor, an 8 MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 1 GB of RAM, HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1,450 mAh battery. It runs Nokia’s own MeeGo variant which comes with the all-new swipe-based UI.
