Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for LG Optimus LTE, Optimus 3D, Optimus 2X and Optimus Black confirmed
Earlier this month, LG was “in the process of planning” Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for some of it Optimus smartphones, without providing too many details on this.
Now the company has confirmed via Facebook that four Optimus handsets will get a taste of Android ICS. The four devices are: LG Optimus LTE (the first HD smartphone from LG), LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus 2X, and the LG Optimus Black.
Reportedly, the “upgrade schedule and additional specific models for the ICS OS upgrade” are going to be unveiled next month (December).
Although LG says it wants to make Android 4.0 available on as many smartphones as possible, I don’t think owner of handsets like the LG Optimus One (HVGA screen, 600MHz processor) will be able to enjoy the features of the new OS. But we’ll see what happens.
