Verizon Motorola Droid RAZRMAX may be in the works with bigger battery
If by any chance you’re already tired of the Motorola Droid RAZR for Verizon, you’ll be happy to know that something new is on the way. Supposedly.
Apparently, Motorola figured out that putting a 4G LTE modem into an insanely thin phone results in pretty average battery life. So the company may be ready for a slight compromise, allowing for more thickness in order to place a bigger battery inside.
Inside the Droid RAZRMAX, which may be the moniker under which this new smartphone will be sold in the future. Sure, it probably would’ve been more helpful if Moto did just that with the original RAZR, but hey, a manufacturer’s gotta sell some (more) phones, right? Just look at how soon the Droid 4 will arrive after the Droid 3 before it – so the fact that Motorola is already working on a RAZRMAX isn’t impossible at all.
The name was revealed both via some EXIF image data which PocketNow found, as well as a random member of Razr Forums who went to a Verizon store and claims that an employee told him a RAZRMAX would be out soon, being a bit thicker than the original Droid RAZR, but coming with a bigger battery.
Of course, Motorola may have (wisely) decided to throw some other updated hardware bits in there as well, we just don’t know at this point. But we’ll let you know when we do. Until then though, do take this with a grain of salt and file it under ‘rumors’.
