Sony Ericsson Xperia Active launched in the US for $340 (unlocked)
Released in the UK at the end of last month, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active can be now purchased in the US, too.
Newegg is selling the Xperia Active unlocked for $339.99. For that kind of money, you get a smartphone that’s dust proof and water resistant, and offers a 3 inch HVGA scratch resistant display, 3G (only on AT&T), Wi-Fi, GPS, compass, barometer, wrist strap, heart rate and pulse monitoring apps, 5MP camera with 720p video recording, and a 1GHz single-core processor.
The Xperia Active is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and Sony Ericsson included it in the list of smartphones that would be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next year.
