T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G receives software update which improves battery life and overall stability
T-Mobile’s HTC Sensation 4G has an update on the way. T-Mobile started pushing this software version to Sensation 4G device owners yesterday. The update fixes a bunch of issues, most notably it’s supposed to improve battery life and overall system stability. And just for those two reasons you should clearly apply the update as soon as it reaches you.
Speaking of that, the update is over-the-air, and its rollout will occur in stages. T-Mobile expects all Sensation 4Gs to be on this new software version (1.50.531.1) by January 15. If your Sensation 4G hasn’t told you about the update yet, you can manually check by going to Settings > About phone > HTC software updates. That said, you may not see it as being available even if you manually try to. In that case, patience is all you have left.
Aside from the aforementioned fixes, this update also improves the Trace dictionary and Wi-Fi connections. Screen unresponsiveness, taking screenshots, icon pixelation, and green lines on photos have all been taken care of, alongside the lock screen shifted up.
So there you have a nice slew of improvements, certainly worth the wait. Of course you’ll still be running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread after this update. Ice Cream Sandwich is a long way out at this point.
If you’re thinking about getting the HTC Sensation 4G, it’s available on Amazon for $200 (as of this writing).
