Asus Transformer Prime will be out in Australia in January

Just like in other parts of the world, the Asus Transformer Prime will be released in Australia in January.

According to AusDroid, prices for Asus’ new tablet will start at about 700 Australian dollars.

Since Asus has confirmed that the Transformer Prime would be launched in Italy with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board (also starting January), this might happen in Australia, too.

The new tablet features a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 10.1 inch Gorilla Glass display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, 8MP rear camera, 1080p video recording, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory.

It remains to be seen if the Transformer Prime will be introduced in the US before the end of the year, as Asus said it would.

    $700 starting price!
When will we NOT GET screwed by technology pricing in Australia?
And retailers here whinge and whine that we shop online – hey mate, match the US price and I’ll happily buy from you too.

    Melbornian here, and totally agreed.

retailers acting like they’re entitled to bill us top dollar when really they should be begging us to still use them as they’re an endangered species.

    adapt to survive bitches !

100% agreed! Starting price of $499(i think) in US, and they’re charging us $200 more even though our dollar’s higher. It should atleast be the same even if you put in the transport costs!

it might be that this price includes the dock. i was checking a few sites and at 1 of them they had it at 799 including dock(centrecom.com.au). seems asus likes playing around with the dock accessory and pricing. pierrepp
