Samsung Star 3 and dual SIM Star 3 Duos (S5222) officially announced
One year after announcing the Star II S5260, today Samsung has unveiled two new handsets from the popular Star series: the Samsung Star 3 and Samsung Star 3 Duos.
Aimed at users who want a cheap non-smartphone, the Samsung Star 3 features a 3 inch QVGA display, TouchWiz Lite, quad-band GSM / EDGE connectivity (there’s no 3G at all), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Samsung’s ChatON mobile communication service, Facebook and Twitter integration, 3.2MP camera, and MicroSD card support.
The Star 3 Duos (which is the S5222 seen a few days ago) looks just like the Star 3, the only added feature being the dual SIM support. Both handsets will be released in black and white flavors.
The new Star 3 and Star 3 Duos will be available starting late January, first in Russia, then in other countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Samsung didn’t say anything about the prices of the two phones – I assume neither of them will cost more than $200.
