The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 were announced a few days ago, and Samsung has brought both to Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress. So naturally we went to Samsung’s booth and did some extensive photo shoots with both, as well as a quick demo video with each.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, like its predecessor, focuses on bringing style to the midrange price points, all in a pretty compact package. The Ace 2 is a bit bigger than the original Ace, its screen being 0.3 inches larger diagonally, but it’s still a lot more pocketable than some of the high-end smartphones that are being announced these days. The Galaxy Ace 2 comes with a dual-core 800 MHz processor, so performance (at least for day-to-day tasks) shouldn’t be a problem.
The Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is the company’s new entry-level smartphone, a perfect fit for first-time smartphone buyers (or so Samsung thinks). It’s smaller than the Ace 2, but bigger than the original Mini (similarly to how the Ace 2 compares to the Ace).
Both the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 should be shipping soon, and despite not having many specs to shout about, these will probably make up the bulk of Samsung’s Android smartphone sales this year entirely because of their pricing.
Here’s a demo video of the Galaxy Ace 2:
And here’s one where the star is the Galaxy Mini 2:
If you simply can’t stop staring at either of these phones, then the full picture gallery which is embedded for your convenience right below this paragraph will surely make you stick around just a little bit longer.
