New Samsung Brightside QWERTY phone lands at Verizon tomorrow
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 isn’t the only new Samsung device that Verizon will release tomorrow, March 1. The largest US carrier will also have a QWERTY phone for its customers: the Samsung Brightside.
The Brightside comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1 inch HVGA display, Facebook and Twitter integration, document viewer (including PDF and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and a 3.2MP camera.
Verizon will sell the Samsung Brightside for $99.99 on contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate. That’s an unjustified price, considering that for the same amount of money you can get an Android smartphone – like the Samsung Stratosphere (which also has a QWERTY keyboard, plus LTE, a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, and a 5MP camera).
