Lenovo intros Cloud Storage by SugarSync for Android tablets and other devices
Lenovo has officially announced its own cloud storage service, developed in collaboration with California-based SugarSync, and called Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync.
The new service will come pre-installed on Lenovo PCs and Android tablets starting April, offering users 5GB of free storage (with various upgrade options, starting at $4.99 per month for 30GB). You’ll be able to upload, sync and backup content, as well as “share links with others for downloading files directly from the Cloud.”
Lenovo Cloud Storage for Windows can be downloaded and used as of today – just follow this link. The really good news is that the service can be used not only on Lenovo products, but also on devices made by other manufacturers (and yes, those free 5GB are still included). I’ve installed it on my Samsung laptop, and it works without a problem.
“Today people need to work with their data across all of their devices, while also being able to easily share and collaborate on that data from anywhere. Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync enables people to access, sync and share their digital lives across all computers and mobile devices. This partnership with Lenovo will give the many millions of Lenovo customers a seamless way to start using the Cloud for ultimate productivity with Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops and Android tablets – right out of the box,” declared said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync.
Lenovo’s latest Android tablet is the IdeaTab S2, which runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and features a 10 inch display, dual-core processor, and a keyboard dock that provides up to 20 hours of battery life.
