Samsung Galaxy S III to have 4.65″ Super AMOLED Plus HD display, carrier testing already underway?
Get ready for the Samsung Galaxy S III rumor of the day. Like it or not, this is probably one of the very few Android devices that have reached iPhone levels of rumor mongering, and until Samsung finally decides to take the wraps off of it, you’ll keep hearing stuff about it.
Today’s rumor claims that the Galaxy S III will have a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD touchscreen. That would make it the same size as the one seen in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but with the all-important ‘Plus’ designation – meaning the panel won’t be a PenTile unit. That will make display tech purists happy, undoubtedly.
Apparently, Samsung’s OLED arm (Samsung Mobile Display) is currently hard at work making the screens for the upcoming flagship device.
Samsung has already started carrier testing at home in South Korea, and the company hopes that this process will take less than the usual two months. However, that’s pretty unlikely considering the fact that the Galaxy S III comes with a quad-core processor as well as LTE support.
So there you go, a few more specs ‘confirmed’ for you. Although do keep in mind that tomorrow’s rumor may speak about a larger display and whatnot, so for now don’t take these more seriously than your average iPhone 5-related talk.
